INTRODUCTION
OBJECTIVES OF PHARMACY
- To improve the health sector.
- To run drug stores by the skilled and qualified health professionals there by contributing to the national development.
- To acquaint the student with overall knowledge of health and medicine so as to purchase career as a skilled health professional.
- To improve the quality and efficiency of drug therapy.
- To improve the rational use of drugs along with the health service at national level.
- To provide qualified technical manpower to fulfill the needs of drug manufacturing industries in the areas of research and development, production and quality control.
- To produce the professional diploma level pharmacy assistant for providing curative,preemptive,quality dispensing and health services to people in the hospital,nursing homes and communities.
ACADEMIC YEAR
The academic session starts from Bhadra. The class hours starts from 6.00 AM to 11.00 AM.The college has also been running extra classes. There is provision of presentation classes by the students in regular intervals .The institute will follow the CTEVT system. The calendar displays working days holiday,vacation,internal assessment and final examinations.In case of any changes in the program,the students will be informed.
THE ENROLMENT CRITERIA FOR PHARMACY PROGRAM
The Nepalese students who have passed SLC or equivalent examinationsfrom Nepal with a minimum of 45%,with compulsoryEnglish,mathematics and science are eligible to apply for admission.The total enrollment of students is 40 in each year. Scholarship is awarded to 4 students (two full and two partial).
EXAMINATION AND ASSESSMENT OF THE PROGRAM.
The examination will be conducted to the examination system of CTEVT. The minimum pass mark for theory is 40% and for practical is 60%.There will be 3 assessments,plenty of class tests and visas in an academic year.
ATTENDENCE REQUIREMENTS
Each student attending 90% of the class day is eligible to appear in the final examination. The date and time of the examination will be notified in the daily newspaper.

Scholarships desk: Highly competent and deserving students are rewarded on the basis of their performance. For the topper of M.Sc and Excellency GOLD medal is awarded annually. Excellency student in other extracurricular activities are also awarded.
Description: Kantipur College of Medical and Science (KCMS) has launched a M.Sc microbiology to develop highly skilled human resources for the advancement of science and technology in Nepal. After conducting highly successful program in B.Sc in Microbiology, and due to high demand of this subject, we have initiated Master Program in Microbiology under affiliation of Tribhuvan University.
